India finally has a sneaker scene of its own. Not imported shoes with an Indian price tag, but brands designing, sourcing and building here, for Indian feet and Indian streets. At Mission 91 we stock a small, curated set of them. The 91 is India's dialling code, and every brand below earned its place. Here is who they are, and who each one is for.
1. Gully Labs
Gully Labs designs sneakers that carry Indian culture in the details: Kantha-inspired embroidery, Phulkari patterns and Rangoli-style perforations. The Gully Number 001 is its signature shape, the Number 002 is a vintage runner with gold-embroidered years such as 1948, honouring India's first Olympic gold, and the Number 003 reimagines Punjab's mojari as a modern sneaker. Its collaborations include Royal Enfield's Hunter 350 and Nivia.
Best for: anyone who wants a sneaker with a story. Shop Gully Labs.
2. CHNKS
CHNKS makes easy, colour-led pairs for everyday wear. Each colourway has a mood: Affogato's espresso and cream, Agave's olive suede, Icy's white and deep green. Expect a snug yet flexible fit, generous toe room and anti-skid soles, at prices that make them a sensible first homegrown pair.
Best for: everyday wear and gifting. Shop CHNKS, or browse women's sneakers under ₹3,000.
3. ZEESH
ZEESH works in premium leather. Pairs like Cobra use nappa leather with python-embossed overlays, the Bellagio mules use suede with textured nappa detailing, and many styles are made to order. These are bolder, dressier sneakers built to be noticed.
Best for: statement leather. Shop ZEESH.
4. DMODOT
DMODOT builds leather sneakers with a European sensibility: brogues like Fresco and Cobalto, zip-up Pigro pairs, Scarpo slip-ons and Freddo mules. Clean lines, real leather and suede, and shapes that sit as comfortably with tailoring as with denim.
Best for: smart-casual wardrobes. See our leather sneakers made in India.

5. Unlabel
Unlabel lets the leather speak. Pairs like Rift, Stratus and Bastion use hand-painted full-grain leather in a rich Toledo finish, a breathable sheep leather lining, a wide toe box and a lightweight EVA sole, with branding kept to a minimum.
Best for: quiet luxury, no logos. Shop Unlabel.
6. Drifbolt
Drifbolt makes 3D-printed sneakers such as Wave, Koral and Breeze, an experimental, design-led take on what an Indian sneaker can be.

Best for: early adopters.
And to look after them: SHOEGR
SHOEGR is a homegrown shoe care brand formulated for Indian dust, sweat and monsoon grime. Its cleaner, brushes and kits keep every pair above looking new. Read our guide on how to clean white sneakers, or shop sneaker care.
How we choose
We only stock Indian brands, we look closely at materials and build, and we would rather carry fewer brands than the wrong ones. If you are unsure which pair suits you, write to care@mission91.in and we will help.
